Clandon Wood Nature Reserve and Natural Burial Ground

22nd April 2020, 10:00 - 12:30

Surrey’s Nature Recovery –
Creating a Wilder Future
22nd April 2020
10.00 for 10.15am – 12.30 pm

Join us at this beautiful nature reserve set at the foot of the Surrey Hills and hear two of Surrey’s leading nature experts, both of whom are extremely entertaining speakers, talk about how we can make space for nature in Surrey.

Sarah Jane Chimwandira is Chief Executive of Surrey Wildlife Trust and was previously a director for ten years.  She is a director and co-founder of the Surrey Nature Partnership, a trustee of the Ecosystems Knowledge Network and brings experience of many successful partnerships to her role.

Simon Ferrer founded Clandon Wood in 2013.   Through the understanding and development of Clandon Wood he has become ever more committed to the development of sustainable and responsible green spaces, which will improve and protect our natural landscapes for centuries to come, whilst also providing an essential and respectful human amenity where people are laid to rest.

The 31 acre grounds of Clandon Wood are managed to complement the surrounding farmland and woodlands to the benefit of local wildlife. Although most of the site is meadowland, newly planted trees blend the woodlands and grasslands of the neighbourhood together making a large glade within a wood.

The talks will take place in the contemporary glass pavilion on the site.

Part of the event will be outdoors so participants should bring suitable clothing and footwear, especially if there has been recent rain.

This event is not designed for children and dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead at all times.  Please note some of the reserve may not be accessible for wheelchair users.

The cost will be £10.00 for members and £12.50 for non-members to include light refreshments and tea and coffee.

Booking is essential: If you would like to join us would you please book on-line or complete and return the attached booking form to arrive at Warren Farm Barns by Friday 17 April 2020.
