3rd September 2020, 14:15 - 16:00
You will be truly surprised when you enter this garden from its discreet entrance directly from the main road out of Reigate. It is hard to believe that behind this seemingly urban frontage you will find a large garden and arboretum stocked with a wide variety of trees and plants.
This is a lovely large garden with its arboretum and two well stocked ponds. It is primarily a spring garden with a large collection of hellebores and spring flowers but still with plenty of interest at all times of the year. There are pots planted with colourful displays, interesting plants and a small Gothic folly built by the owner, herbaceous borders with grasses, perennials, spring bulbs and parterre. There is a new bed with wild daffodils and prairie style planting in summer and a new wildflower garden in the arboretum.
The walk through the garden is partly on paths but through the arboretum it can be on grass which could be wet, so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing suitable for the prevailing weather conditions. It is a relatively easy walk so should be suitable for all. Not suitable for dogs or children.
The cost of this event will be £5.50 for members and £6 for non-members, most of which is for the donation to the National Garden Scheme charity of which Caxton House is a member.
We will give you more precise joining instructions nearer the time.
