It is several years since the Society visited the Rural Life Centre (RLC) at Tilford and we have never had a tour of the adjacent Farnham Heath RSPB reserve. This event rectifies both these gaps in our schedule of visits to interesting venues.

Join local tree expert, Pamela Holt for a guided tour around this quintessentially English village, near Guildford. Pamela will be pointing out trees of particular interest and giving tips on how best to identify common trees of the Surrey Hills. Our Chairman, Chris Howard will also be there to point out historic buildings and other points of interest, as well as giving an insight into the social history of the village.

We will be taking over the croquet courts at the beautiful Polesden Lacey gardens enjoying the stunning views over the Surrey Hills. Join us for a fun afternoon around this 'gentle' game and follow it up with a delicious tea.

This is an optional morning, afternoon or all day event. It includes a morning learning about the work of famous local scientist Sir William Bragg, inventor of the X-ray machine, iron lung and studies in crystallography. Optional lunch in pub or coffee shop or picnic on the Green. Afternoon exploring a private sub-tropical garden as seen on BBC’s “Gardeners’ World”.

The Patchworking Garden Project was established in 2014, on the northern edge of Dorking with views to Box Hill, to bring positive change to people’s lives through the benefits of friendship and gardening. Our garden guide, Susie Turner, who also actively volunteers for our own Society, will welcome you to an exclusive tour of this original 2 acre walled garden.

Titsey Place in Oxted is an impressive manor house with beautiful gardens set in the stunning countryside of the North Downs. The House and Gardens are held in Charitable Trust and open to the public at set times. We will have the opportunity to visit the house with a guide, get access to the church and a chance to wander round the magnificent gardens. A cream tea will be served at the end of the afternoon.
