Community Hedge Planting Day along the North Downs Way at Littleton

2nd March 2024, 10:00 - 14:30

Community Hedge Planting Day

along the North Downs Way National Trail

Saturday 2 March 2024

We are continuing to work with local landowners and farmers to plant native hedgerows across the Surrey Hills National Landscape, as part of the Surrey Hills Conservation Volunteers scheme. This will create vital wildlife corridors, as well as provide food and shelter for a variety of wildlife.

Hedgerow planting is a fun activity, suitable for individuals, families and friends and a great way to enjoy the beautiful Surrey Hills landscape and its surrounding area. Native hedgerows will help to support and encourage species such as barn owls, hedgehogs, and dormice.

We would love it if you could join us and the local farmer in planting a variety of native tree species for nature to enjoy!

No prior experience necessary!

Where to meet: North Downs Way, Littleton Lane, Guildford GU3 1HN

Directions:  Access to the site is found by turning into Stakescorner Road off the B3000, following signs for Loseley House. Continue to follow the road until it turns into Littleton Road, passing through the village of Littleton.

At the junction with Sandy Lane continue straight following a dirt track. Follow this until you come to a track on your left. Turn in here where somebody will meet you to assist you with parking alongside the track.

If coming by public transport the 46 Bus runs from Guildford to Elstead, stopping at the Watts Gallery, Compton which is a 30 minute walk to the site along the North Downs Way.
