4th February 2018, 11:00 - 12:30
Dorking is a country town with a long history and lots of hidden corners behind the High Street which we will be exploring. We will mainly walk around the town and finish back at the Dorking Halls where there is the option to extend the walk and follow the Deepdene Trail.
Meet us at the Dorking Halls car park, Reigate Road, Dorking RH4 1SG at 10.30 for a prompt 11.00 am start. No parking charges on a Sunday.
Being a winter walk, it is planned to be mainly on paved surfaces, but there will several steep lanes and roads to climb. Dorking is far from being flat. You will need suitable footwear with non-slip soles and to be adequately clothed for the prevailing weather conditions.
As it is a town walk, it is probably not a particularly enticing option for dogs, although they could come along on a lead.
Children are also welcome. The walk is short, 4 miles walk, but with steep hills can be demanding.
We plan to finish the walk by 12.30pm. The café at Dorking Halls is open on Sundays and refreshments can be bought after the walk.
This is a free guided walk, open to all, members and non-members alike. Booking your place is essential.
