As part of Guildford’s Walkfest – Explore Pirbright, Sheets Heath and the Basingstoke Canal

This walk will commence in the centre of Pirbright and take a brief look at the Military Cemetery before heading down to Basingstoke Canal and then across to Sheets Heath, which is maintained by the Surrey Heathland Project.

We will then walk along a further section of the Canal, which is a pleasant haven for wildlife and return along quiet lanes and fields visiting the churchyard of St Michael’s and All Angels Pirbright, the resting place of the explorer Henry Moreton Stanley.
