Private visit to Hannah Peschar Sculpture Garden

This fascinating Sculpture Garden, or open air art gallery, was the brainchild of the original curator Hannah Peschar 40 years ago.

The Garden was part of a large estate which was sold leaving the 15th Century grade 2 listed black and white cottage in ten acres of land which now houses around 200 sculptures.

Artists come from across Britian and Europe to exhibit their work in the breathtaking surroundings.

Over the past 40 years the garden has been redesigned by Anthony Paul who is an award-winning landscape designer and Hannah Peschar’s husband. Unfortunately Hannah passed away in 2021.

The Sculptures in the garden have been carefully chosen by Anthony and his fellow curator Vikki Leedham and placed them throughout the garden so that they sit in harmony with their surroundings to create an amazing synergy within the environment for people to wander around and enjoy at their leisure.

Anthony and Vikki have also launched “The Indoor Gallery” which is a beautiful custom built exhibiting space within the grounds of the Garden.

We will enjoy tea/coffee and biscuits on our arrival and will be given a talk on the history of the garden and their ethos. We will then be able to ramble throughout the garden looking at the sculptures. We are welcome to stay later than 1pm.

Please wear comfortable footwear suitable for a variety of terrains and clothing appropriate for the weather.

The garden is only partially accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs as there are steps and tricky pathways throughout.  The on-site toilets are open.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

During the talk we will have tea and biscuits. When booking please let us know in the comments box of any dietary requirements.

The cost to Members is £20.00 and Non-members £25.00.
