Exploring the woods around Thames Ditton

4th August 2024, 10:30 - 13:00

FREE WALK

Exploring the woods around Thames Ditton
Sunday 4 August 2024
Start time 10.15am for 10.30am start
Finish time approx 1pm

Normally we walk in the Surrey Hills. Today we are walking in hills in Surrey…..a little further afield!

Andy is born and bred in the area and will show you a side of Thames Ditton many never see. It is surprisingly rural, plenty of horses, deer and even hedgehogs.

The walk is mainly along woodland paths, but there are two gentle climbs to the top of hill tops where you will be rewarded by interesting views over towards Sandown Racecourse and Claygate. We pass one of the old Semaphore Towers at Telegraph Hill along the way.

Being locals, Andy and Sue have lots of knowledge and interesting facts about the area to tell you along the way.

To make a day of it, why not book a pub lunch and then visit the Malden Miniature Railway in the afternoon. Open 1.00pm – 4pm. You will need to book in advance. See here for details.

It may be muddy if we have had rain, so stout boots recommended.

This walk is classed as Easy.

Obedient dogs are welcome.

There are no facilities or toilets available on this walk, but The Angel Inn is nearby and recommended as a lunch spot. You will need to book in advance. The George and Dragon or The Ferry are also nearby.

The cost is free but you must book your ticket by pressing the brown button below.

Deadline for booking is 2 August 2024
