Following on from National Inclusion Week on 14th-20th September the Surrey Hills Society is pleased to be able to offer the first in a series of events where we will be welcoming a diverse group of people from different backgrounds to share in exciting walks and talks across the Surrey Hills.

The ‘Growing Together’ series of events follow-on from the Society’s 2024/2025 Growing Together project which worked to introduce the Surrey Hills National Landscape to a wider group of people by delivering an exciting programme of nature-based activities.

The Royal Horticultural Society is kindly hosting a free unique event at RHS Wisley Gardens. Surrey Hills Society members and friends will join members of the Camberley Sikh and Nepalese Gurkha communities for a 90-minute tour of the garden gaining information about the garden and about wildlife friendly gardening from RHS experts.

The guided tour will be followed by a free picnic lunch and a further exploration of the gardens with the Surrey Hills Society team. The picnic will be in a dedicated room at the gardens suitable for all weathers.

This event will be outside in the RHS Wisley Garden grounds so please come prepared for any weather conditions, including suitable walking shoes. You will need to bring your own water bottle.

Toilets are available on arrival, at the lunch venue and departure.

• The event is suitable for accompanied teenagers and adults
• As the tour will include areas where dogs are prohibited it is not possible to bring dogs to this event
• The event is accessible for members with mobility challenge but please do let us know of any mobility challenges in advance via the email below.

This is a FREE event but booking is essential. Booking closes on 22nd September at 1pm
