14th July 2018, 10:00 - 16:30
Have you ever wanted to get more involved with leading walks but have not had the confidence? This is an opportunity for you to learn more about what it takes to lead a walk and what things you need to consider.
The day is aimed to be fun, as well as an opportunity to learn some more map reading skills, learn about Health and Safety and procedures for running a walk with the Surrey Hills Society.
Participation in the day will not commit you to anything. The aim is to get members more confident with assisting with walks, as leaders or back markers, but there are no obligations.
The day will end with a short walk around the area practicing our map reading skills.
Please bring a packed lunch. Refreshments and afternoon tea will be provided.
The event is free and open to all reasonably fit walkers. No other skills required.
If you wish to join us for the course, please book your place at the bottom of the page. Further event details will be sent to you closer to the training day.
