10th March 2023, 09:30 - 12:30
We are continuing to work with local landowners and farmers to plant native hedgerows and trees across the Surrey Hills National Landscape, as part of the Surrey Hills Conservation Volunteers scheme. This is part of a series of hedge and tree planting events taking place across the area. For this event we will be planting a range of native tree species to create a scrub belt that will enhance local farmland. This will provide food, shelter and song posts for a range of birds and wildlife.
Tree planting is a fun activity, suitable for individuals, families and friends and a great way to enjoy the beautiful Surrey Hills landscape and its surrounding area. Native trees will help to support and encourage overwintering birds, hedgehogs and insects which are all important in the wider ecosystem.
We would love it if you could join us and the local farmer in planting a variety of native tree species for both people and nature to enjoy!
