Woldingham Circular – First Sunday of the Month Walk

4th February 2024, 11:00 - 12:30

FREE WALK

Woldingham Circular
Meet at 10.30 for prompt 11am start
Approx Finish 12.30

This walk replaces the previously advertised Oxted walk, which will be run later in the year when the conditions are more suitable.

The walk starts and finishes at Woldingham Rail Station and explores the surrounding countryside. It has been specifically chosen because of its suitability for the winter season.

This delightful walk enjoys views across the Caterham Valley and takes us along the Madeira Path and through the Marden Valley.

We will also explore Woldingham Garden Village, which was originally built at the beginning of the First World War to house the Public Schools Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment. As war casualties mounted, it was converted into a convalescent camp and was used to build “Homes for Heroes” after the World War II.

The walk has several long climbs and descents throughout and is classed as of MODERATE difficulty. There are no gates or stiles on route but we will need to negotiate a couple of flights of steps in the first half of the walk. Most of the paths are firm, but some sections can become muddy after wet weather so stout shoes or boots are recommended.

This walk is not really designed for buggies or wheelchairs. Older children who can manage the distance and ascents are welcome.

Well behaved dogs are welcome on the walk but need to be on leads.

This is a free event but booking is essential.  Please book online by using the brown button below.
