Join our Vice President, Chris Howard, who volunteered on the Tales of the Tillingbourne HLF project, created to highlight this fascinating industrial valley. Chris will be taking you through the idyllic village of Abinger, situated in the heart of the Tillingbourne Valley. The walk will identify former mill sites and historic houses in and around the village. You will also learn more about the Heritage Lottery Funded project, the Tales of the Tillingbourne, which showcased the amazing industrial heritage of this hidden valley and meet some of the puppets created as part of this project – now housed at Shere Museum.
This event is run in partnership with Mole Valley District Council’s Heritage Open Weekend.
Please bring water, rainwear and stout walking shoes.
Length of walk: 2.5miles / 4km
