3rd November 2019 - 3rd November 2019 , 10:30 - 13:30
Sunday 3rd November 2019
Arrival time 10.30am for prompt 11.00am start – Finishing time 1.30pm
Meet at Bell Street Car Park RH2 7AN (next to Priory Park)
Reigate is a town with quite a history and lots of hidden corners behind the High Street which we will be exploring, including Reigate Castle. We will mainly walk around the town and finish back in Priory Park where there is the option to extend the walk in a large open space.
Being an autumn walk, it is planned to be mainly on paved surfaces, but there are two flights of steps – one up which is well structured, and the second down which is steep and a bit uneven. You will need suitable footwear with non-slip soles and to be adequately clothed for the prevailing weather conditions.
There is a café in the park, and many options in the town for refreshments after the walk, although we are going to leave it to individuals to make their own choice as there is nowhere of a sufficient size to accommodate the whole party.
The walk is relatively easy, but there is an optional hill climb in Priory Park.
The walk is leisurely and is open to all fairly fit walkers, but is not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs.
Stout foot wear is recommended and weather appropriate clothing is required.
Well behaved dogs welcome on leads. Children would be welcome, but because of the steps, it would be difficult with a pushchair.
Length of Walk: 2.5 miles
Time: 10.30am for prompt 11.00am start and 1.30pm finish.
