Join us for a short 3.5 mile walk to explorer the Forest Green area of Surrey.
Forest Green is a hamlet of vague origin, but has been recorded in 1580 as Folles Green, then later as Forest and Farleyes. By 1625, Forest Green was part of the Evelyn Estate. Brickmaking from the local clay, was an early occupation for many of the dwellers.
The village has remained reasonably unchanged through the years, with even the Parrot Inn being recorded at the Guildford record office in 1712. In its earlier years The Parrot had a tea garden on the green opposite the pub.
Our short walk will explore some of the footpaths around the area, in the shadow of Leith Hill.
This event is not suitable for children or those with mobility challenges. Dogs are welcome but will need to remain on the lead.
Please wear appropriate footwear and dress according to weather conditions.
Please note that there are no toilets or facilities in the area.
