15th June 2023, 10:00 - 12:30
Join Lucy Shea who is the Clerk to Banstead Commons Conservators on a guided walk across Banstead Heath.
During this 2.5 hour walk Lucy will take you through the mosaic of habitats on the Heath including open meadow, secondary woodland and areas of mixed gorse heathland. We will point out how the site is managed to preserve habitats and the species and wildlife that call this special area home. You will also find out more about the historical features of the site as well as the background behind common land legislation and the work of the Conservators.
Our circular walk of the heath will start from our noticeboard on Mill Road and is approximately three miles in length.
This walk is classed as a moderate walk.
