Make the Surrey Hills part of your Christmas celebrations with this fun and social event. There will be a guided walk exploring more of the Surrey Hills adjoining Belmont School, followed by mulled wine and mince pies in the School Hall by kind invitation of the Headmistress, Mrs Helen Skrine.
The Victorian mansion “Feldemore”, now Belmont School, is located to the east of the village of Holmbury St Mary, standing high on the hill towards Abinger. Built in the late 19th century and once owned by the Waterhouse family of Price Waterhouse fame, this fine Arts and Crafts building houses the work of William Morris and William de Morgan.
For the walk you will need stout walking shoes and be fit enough to climb small hills. It is practical to bring dogs on this day, but the event is not designed/suitable for small children. This event cannot be adapted for members with mobility difficulties. Bring wet weather gear if rain is forecast.
Plenty of free parking available at the school.
Booking is essential. The cost for the visit will be £5.00 per person (children up to 16 free) and £6.00 for non-members. If you would like to join us, you can book your place online at the bottom of the page OR complete and return the downloadable slip (in green below) to arrive at Warren Farm Barns by Wednesday 5th December. Please include your e-mail address or a stamped addressed envelope so you may be sent full details, directions and locations for the visit.
