This walk will go through some woodland and then open countryside past Lydling Farm home to the world-famous Rosemead Aberdeen Angus herd of cattle. The current farmer, Angus Stovold, is passionate about maintaining the environment and has worked to develop hedgerows and sustainably manage the farm to encourage biodiversity. We will then walk along a section of the Fox Way that will take us into Puttenham and then along the North Downs Way back through part of Puttenham Common.
Puttenham Common is a remnant of lowland heath and is an important nature reserve managed by Surrey Wildlife Trust.
Please note: There is one stile that may need to be climbed. Most of the walk will be off-road. The paths are generally in good condition unless there has been a lot of rain when boots are advisable.
Walkers wishing to eat after the walk can do so at the Good Intent, 60-62, The Street, Puttenham GU3 1AR which is about 5 minutes’ drive from Puttenham Common.
