Shere Millennium Trail – free, guided walk

1st October 2017, 11:15 - 16:30

Walk most of the Shere Millennium Trail with the Surrey Hills Society and enjoy the stunning scenery of the Surrey Hills.

This free, 9 mile walk will take us in the morning via Hoe Village in the Hurtwood to Peaslake for a lunch break (pub or picnic). The afternoon walk will go via Lane End Farm, Cotterell Farm, Shere Heath to Shere with a short break and back to Gomshall Station.

Guildford’s Walking Festival is now in its 11th year.  It is run entirely by volunteers and involves many local organisations and charities that all support this event to celebrate the wonderful walks around Guildford and some of the history and other interesting things happening around the area.  There is one short, one medium and one long walk every day for the whole of September.  Further info on

Dogs are allowed to this walk. There are some short, steep ascends and descents but the pace throughout is moderate. A train leaves Guildford Station at 10.56 or Bus 32 at 10.20 will drop you at the Compasses Pub, which is only a short walk from the train station.

Meet us at Gomshall Railway Station car park GU5 9NX at 11am for an 11.15am start.
