27th December 2020, 10:30 - 13:00
Join the Chairman and Vice Presidents of the Society on a relaxing and sociable walk to blow the cobwebs away after the Christmas festivities. We will adhere to the Government regulations which we anticipate will be for of groups of 5 with a dedicated walk leader for each group. We will keep you updated via email if you register to join us.
The walk will take us from Shalford Common where we will view the new Swift Tower. Some of the funds for this project came from the Surrey Hills Trust Fund. We will walk along the River Wey canal towards Bramley and then use part of the disused railway line to take us to Wonersh and magnificent views from Chinthurst Hill. It is a steep climb up the hill here and a steep decline on the other side for our return to Shalford, so stout walking shoes required and you will need to be a relatively fit walker. The walk is 4.5 miles (7.2kms).
There is lots of free parking around the common and by the bus stop there is parking behind the recycling bins by the scout hut.
Dogs are welcome but will need to remain on the lead. This walk is unsuitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
THERE ARE NO TOILETS AVAILABLE
The event is free but booking is essential. If you wish to join us, please register by using the brown button below and full details will be sent to you nearer the time.
When we return to Shalford, The Snooty Fox Café should be offering take away refreshments for us to enjoy if you wish to extend your time with us a little more.
By continuing and making a booking you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the Terms & Conditions specified in our Cancellation Policy and Responsibility Statement, both of which can be viewed by clicking here
