Join Surrey Hills Society Walks’ Leader, Pete Lambert, on a brisk stroll along the River Wey, south of Guildford. Blow away the Christmas “cobwebs” and get out in the great outdoors for some fresh air and different company.
The River Wey has a fascinating history and is also part of the Wey and Arun Canal network, which was the major transport corridor to ferry goods up to London before the coming of the railways.
The event is free and open to all reasonably fit walkers. The length of the walk is approximately 5 miles.
Meet us at the Parrott Inn in Shalford (GU4 8DW) from 10.30am to 11.00am start. We will end the walk with an optional drink/lunch at the Parrott Inn, Shalford. Dogs are welcome on the walk, but not in the pub.
There is plenty of parking close to the pub, so please do not park at the pub’s own car park as we do not want their customers not to have a parking space.
Booking is essential. Register for this free, guided walk at the bottom of the page. Open to all. You do not need to be a member of the Society.
