With Christmas approaching, why not make some of your decorations using freshly gathered materials from the Surrey Hills countryside. This event has been especially designed to appeal to children, teenagers and adults and for them to go out and gather their own greenery to make their natural Christmas wreath.
We will be taking a short walk around the Wonersh area, visiting a private wood on Chinthurst Hill, where we will gather winter foliage to take back to our base and make into Christmas decorations for you to take home.
To help us get into the Christmas spirit whilst we do our craft work, there will be mulled punch, hot chocolate and Christmas treats for all the family.
Make the Surrey Hills part of your Christmas celebrations with this fun and social event, which is a great value way of decorating your home for Christmas using the bounty from the countryside. All profits will go towards environmental projects in the Surrey Hills.
You will need stout walking shoes and be fit enough to climb small hills. It is not practical to bring dogs on this day but the event is suitable for children although it would be diffficult on the walk with pushchairs. This event can be adapted for members with mobility difficulties. Bring wet weather gear if rain is forecast.
The cost for the visit will be £25.00 per adult member, £32 for adult non-members and for under 12’s it’s £5.00 per child. The cost includes refreshments, the guided walk and the wreaths and displays that you make to take home.
