27th May 2017, 00:00 - 23:59

Join us for a free, guided walk & talk on the chalk; meeting at the start of the North Downs Way at the junction of A31 and Station Hill in Farnham the walk begins with a short loop of Farnham Town centre before heading into the countryside along the National Trail. Stopping at Puttenham eco barn for refreshments and a quick tour of St John the Baptist with a longer lunch break at Watts Chapel on Downs Lane.

The walk continues across the Wey Navigation and visits the remains of St Catherine’s Chapel, continuing through The Chantries and up to the Church of St Martha on the Hill to take in the breath taking views over Albury. The final leg passes through Newlands Corner where Agatha Christie staged her disappearance in 1926 and onto Chilworth Gunpowder Mills where our final talk will take place. The walk terminates at The Percy Arms, Chilworth around 5.30pm.

Trains and buses will take us back to Guildford/Farnham. Walkers coming in groups may consider leaving cars at each end of the walk.

The walk is 14 miles long; steady paced, good surfaces with a few hills. A reasonable level of fitness will be required to complete this walk. Bring plenty of water and a packed lunch.
