Join the Vice President of Surrey Hills Society, Chris Howard on this 6 mile circular walk from Haslemere to Hindhead and back. This walk is in celebration of the Surrey Hills Inspiring Views project. An Arts project to create beautiful works of art, that also serve as benches, along the picturesque Greensand Way.
This is a glorious section of the Greensand Way, with fine views and lots of history, and passing through woodlands and dramatic heathland. We shall start at Haslemere Museum before climbing steadily upwards to Hindhead – one of the highest points in the south of England.
Bring plenty of water and a snack, but we will be stopping for a coffee break at the National Trust Café at Hindhead. Appropriate footwear and weatherproof clothing essential.
Walkers will need to be moderately fit as the walk involves some steep hills.
Well behaved dogs are welcome on the walk.
Children under 18 yrs must be supervised.
Meet us at Haslemere Museum, 78 High Street, Haslemere GU27 2LA from 10.30am for an 11 o’clock start. There are several pay and display car parks available in Haslemere, which are well signposted. Haslemere Railway station is about a mile from our meeting point.
The event is free and open to all reasonably fit walkers who are happy with steep inclines, but please book your place at the bottom of this page.
For further details and enquiries, email us on info@surreyhillssociety.org. Contact on the day is Chris Howard on 07879841000.
