Knowle Park is a new community parkland and event space in Cranleigh, Surrey. The park features a new wildlife lake, upgraded footpaths, a car park with 60 spaces, and the creation of new outdoor event space with an amphitheatre.
Martin Bamford, Chair of the Knowle Park Trust will guide us around the 60-acre country park and nature reserve and tell us about the vision and creation of the space.
He will also tell us about Knowle Park Trust, the charity responsible for the management of the park for the benefit of the local community.
The park includes features such as a 3.5-acre wildlife lake with island, lakeside lawn and performance area, coffee and ice cream kiosks and an impressive natural terraced amphitheatre on the hillside to name but a few.
Please dress appropriately for being outdoors at this time of year and wear suitable footwear (closed shoes). You may also want to bring a camera to take pictures.
Children are welcome but anyone under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult/parent/guardian. This event is suitable for pushchairs. There is also a natural play area available for children to use.
Well behaved dogs are welcome if kept on a short lead and all dog fouling is picked up and disposed of appropriately.
This gentle walk will take us approximately 2 hours.
The walk is classed as easy as there are lots of benches and places to rest and most of the park is on flat, even ground.
There is a slightly steeper section if attendees wish to walk above the amphitheatre. This part of the event is classed as moderate but is optional.
Cost to Members: £7.50
Cost to Non-members: £10
Light refreshments from Moooh! Ice Cream and Heartwork Coffee are available to purchase at the site.
Toilets and plenty of parking is available at Knowle Park.
Please be aware that there is an extra charge for parking but 100% of car parking fees go to Knowle Park Charitable Trust. You may also wish to park in one of the public car parks in Cranleigh which are a short walk away from the site.
Deadline for booking 18 April 2024.
