Chantry Woods are one of the bluebell highlights of the Surrey Hills.
Chantry Woods are well known throughout Surrey, for their prolific display of bluebells in April/May. We hope to be able to see this display on our short walk, allowing plenty of time for photographs and to enjoy the wonderful views over Chilworth.
On return to the car park, we will take an optional walk up to St Martha’s Church, to get the extensive views across Surrey, which never cease to please.
Dogs are welcome but will need to remain on the lead.
This walk is unsuitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
There are no toilet or refreshment facilities at any point on this walk. The nearest facilities can be found in Shalford, Chilworth or at Newland’s Corner. You may wish to bring a drink and snacks.
The first part of this short walk is classed as Easy, will be at a relaxed pace and we will allow plenty of time to enjoy and photograph the bluebells (hopefully). There is one moderate incline and some paths are uneven.
The optional second part of this walk to St. Martha’s is classed as Moderate and you should expect sections of different inclines and a steep hill. However from there you are rewarded with some wonderful views.
