Explore Mole Gap Trail

2nd April 2017, 10:30 - 13:30

Join Surrey Hills Society walk leader Pete Lambert and Diane Cooper, from the Surrey County Council’s Countryside team to enjoy this 6 mile (10km), 3 hour walk, and discover some stunning Surrey Hills landscape, including England’s largest vineyard.

You will discover a river that has carved a route through the chalk of the North Downs, some of the best ancient yew and box woodlands in Europe and historic parkland that has inspired famous writers and artists through the centuries.

We will finish the walk with an optional drink/lunch in the pretty market town of Dorking, where you will need to take a short train journey back to Leatherhead to collect your cars.

We will meet at Leatherhead Railway Station. Grid ref: TQ163568. Postcode for Sat Nav: KT22 7SQ at 10.30am for an 11.00am prompt start and a 1.30pm finish. Leatherhead station has a large car park but a more cost effective solution would be to use the Randalls Road long-stay pay and display car park (just opposite Leatherhead Station).

The event is free and open to all reasonably fit walkers. Dogs are welcome on the walk.

Booking is essential even though the walk is free. To book your place and/or to get more information, contact info@surreyhillssociety.org.
