Join Surrey Hills Society Walk leader, Steve Peacock on this short two hour walk to learn about the industrial history of Albury, where a paper mill once stood. Among other things, it made counterfeit French bank notes to undermine Napoleon’s empire. The Albury Mill forms part of study undertaken by the Heritage Lottery Funded “Tales of the Tillingbourne” project.  The project researched the industrial history of all the mills along the Tillingbourne River – once seen as possibly the most industrialised river in the country.

Join Steve in the Drummonds in Albury for an optional drink afterwards.

Stout foot wear is recommended with weather appropriate clothing plus sunscreen lotion if required.

Well behaved dogs welcome on leads.
