This walk will go along some lesser known footpaths through Cobbetts Hill Common and Leapingbar Copse passing through the woods of Henley Park before reaching Henley Park Lake.  This historic park lake is a designated SSSI and Special Protection Area, owned by the MOD and leased to a local military fishing club. The lake adjoins Ash Ranges which form part of the Thames Basin Heaths.  Henley Park was recorded in the Doomsday Book and was the Victorian home of Henry de Worms 1st Baron of Pirbright.

This event is free and open to all fit walkers.     Well behaved dogs welcome on leads.

Please note:   There are no stiles and most of the walk will be off-road although the paths are mostly sandy and generally in good condition unless there has been a lot of rain when boots are advisable.

Walkers wishing to eat after the walk can do so at the Royal Oak. Brookwood Station is about a 30 minute walk away and there is a local bus service (No 28) which stops at Stanford Common, Ash Road a few minutes away from the Royal Oak – see published timetables for more information.
