Visit to Coverwood Farm and Lakes

10.30am – 4pm

We will join our President Chris Howard on this her Presidents Day. We will have tea/coffee on arrival and meet Tim Metson, the farmer, who will lead our visit on his family run farm.

Tim will give us a talk on the history of the farm and his philosophy on the best way to look after his livestock and information regarding his meat production.

We will then move off to the hay trailer for a farm tour.  This will include looking at his livestock, taking a look around their holiday cottage and then returniing to discuss his butchery procedure and information on his solar installation.

We will then enjoy lunch on the farm provided by their mobile food outlet, The Fillet and Bean Café which produces home made burgers directly from the farm.

In the afternoon we will have a tour of the fourteen acres of gardens and lakes with a quiz prior to returning to The Fillet and Bean for afternoon tea.

This is a lovely day out especially if the weather is good.

This event is accessible for members with mobility challenges but please note that we will be having a ride on a trailer towed by a tractor so people must be able to climb onto the trailer.

Due to this event being on a farm, no dogs please.

The cost to Members is £40.00 and to Non-members £50.00.

This cost includes refreshments throughout the day of tea/coffee upon arrival, lunch of beef or vegetarian burgers and salad and afternoon tea.  Please state any dietary requirements in the comments box when booking.
