Volunteer Work Day at Gatton Park

18th March 2017, 10:00 - 15:30

As you probably know, the Society adopted the Capability Brown Tercentenary Project at Gatton as its project in 2016.  Following on from this, we have been invited to join a work day at the park on Saturday, 18th March 2017.  This is a good opportunity to contribute in a very practical way to one of our County’s landscape treasures with the main task being scrub clearance.

If you want to join in, then we will meet up with Louise Miller from Gatton at the mini roundabout as you enter the school side of the park at 10am.  Directions will follow in your confirmation.  You should wear warm outdoor clothes and boots, and if you have a pair of gardening gloves, please bring those.  This is a general work day, so you may meet volunteers who come through connections outside the Society.

The Gatton team will organize the work. Tea and coffee will be provided, but you should bring a packed lunch to sustain you.  Louise has offered to give a brief tour of the park during the day to anyone who is interested.

There is obviously no charge for the day as you will be making a very real contribution to Gatton, but it would be helpful if you would let us know if you would like to join the work party.  Please email to register your interest, and we will send you further details and confirmation.

Please note that the Surrey Hills Society and its Event partners accept no responsibility for any loss, damage or personal injury during events. Participants are requested to wear appropriate clothing and footwear and take due care and attention.

The Society uses members’ photographs on social media and on our website. If you are not happy to have your photo taken during this event, please notify us in writing prior to the event and make the event organiser aware on the day.

By continuing and making a booking you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the Terms & Conditions specified in our Cancellation Policy and Responsibility Statement, both of which can be viewed by clicking here
