Start time: 10.15am for a prompt
10.30am start
Finish time: 1pm

A circular walk up onto the Hogs Back, downhill to the North Downs way and back along the Wey, taking in some lesser-known historical features.

This 5 mile walk takes us through some residential areas leading up to The Mount, via Guildford Cemetery where we see some of its special features, before heading along the ridgeline to the Hogs Back and a visit to the Kernow Stone. Dropping down the slope we then follow the North Downs Way back as far as St Catherine’s Chapel before returning to our start point via the path alongside the Wey.

A reasonable level of fitness is required since the route up to the cemetery is fairly steep and the path down from the ridge to the North Downs Way is narrow and on chalk.

Good walking shoes are recommended and wearing long trousers at this time of year as there are lots of nettles and brambles.  Please bring rain coats if appropriate, wear sunscreen and bring plently of water if it’s hot.

ThIs event is not suitable for children and/or pushchairs or those with mobility challenges.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
