Ripley village is located just off the main A3 road, about 6 miles north-east of Guildford. The walk starts and finishes at the Ripley Green free car park, accessed from the High Street, just by the village sign.  Approximate post code GU23 6AN.

Once on the Green’s access road, you will come to the car park (with toilets) almost immediately on your right. If this first area is full, there is a second car park further to the right or a third one further ahead on the access road. If you are coming by bus, alight in Ripley High Street and enter the Green via the access road by the village sign.  We will congregate at the first car park.

This a short circular walk of about three and a half miles (5.6 kms) from Ripley Green, along part of the shore of Papercourt Lake and then along the canal path of the River Wey with views of the ruins of Newark Priory, built by the Augustinian Order in the late 12th Century.  Our route will also take us past Newark Lock.

This event is free and open to all fit walkers.     Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Please note:   There are a couple of stiles that may need to be climbed.  Most of the walk will be off-road.  The land is low lying and can get muddy so suitable footwear should be worn.
