2nd June 2024, 11:00 - 12:30
Join our President, Chris Howard for a short enjoyable exploration of this little section of the North Downs. Learn about the latest art installation along the North Downs Way National Trail, at Clarkes Lane, with spectacular views across to Kent.
This piece was inspired by the very creatures that, 65 million years ago, formed the foundations of the North Downs Way. ‘Coccolith’ invites visitors to take a seat and immerse themselves in this rolling and quintessential landscape.
This ‘Inspiring views’ commission was designed by artists INSTAR (Trish Evans and Nick Humphreys).
This is a gentle social walk, starting with an optional coffee from the Titsey brewing Company café.
We will then set off for a short 2 mile walk which is classed as Easy but does involve climbing over three stiles. It is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
Obedient dogs are welcome.
We will then return to the Titsey Brewery where you can book to have lunch (pre-booking recommended).
You could also choose to have lunch at Titsey Estate Café Room or the popular traditional pub called Botley Hill Farmhouse.
To make a whole day outing you could also consider booking (independently) for an afternoon tour of the historic Titsey House and stunning walled garden where pre-booking is necessary.
Please wear suitable clothing for the prevailing weather conditions and strong footwear
The cost is free but you must book your ticket by pressing the brown button below.
Deadline for booking is 30 May 2024
