Last October, Gordon Jackson organised for Surrey based Mark Laird of Hazelhouse Jewellery to tell us all about glass fusion and give us the chance to make two pieces to take home. This was such a huge success that we are running this event again.
Hazelhouse Jewellery is a member of Surrey Hills Enterprises. Mark has a small studio in the north west corner of Surrey, with three kilns and has been making fused glass items now for more than 9 years.
All materials required will be supplied and Mark will bring pre-cut the glass so that we will be able to spend more time being creative with fusing our glass wave or tealight..
At the end of the session, Mark will pack everything away and carefully transport the made pieces back to his home for firing.
The finished pieces should be available the following week and we have arranged two collection points, one each side of the county, where you can collect your work. Further details will be contained in the confirmation once you have booked your place.
Here are a couple of the beautiful finished fused glass created by our members in October.
The cost will be £35 for members and £40 for non members. This cost will include making two fused glass pieces – a wave as a first piece and then either a second wave, or a tealight.
We will end the workshop with tea and cakes which is also included in the price. Please let us know in the comments box when booking your ticket of any special dietary requirements.
This event is suitable for those with mobility issues.
No dogs allowed.
Deadline for booking 10 March 2024.
