This walk will be led by our Chairman, Gordon Jackson, and will explore the heathland around Pirbright and the adjacent Ash Ranges.

The precise route will depend on conditions underfoot but Gordon will select a route that ensures you see as much as possible of this stunning and biologically diverse landscape.

Stretching across vast areas, the Pirbright heathland is characterised by its unique and picturesque scenery.

One of the most striking features of this heathland is its rich biodiversity. It is home to a wide range of plant and animal species, making it an important ecological hotspot.

The heathland supports a diverse array of flora, including heather, gorse, bilberry, and various grasses. These plants provide a habitat for numerous insects, birds, and small mammals.
