22nd June 2024, 14:00 - 15:30
The Loxwood canal borders Surrey and Sussex and is operated by volunteer members of the Wey and Arun Canal Trust. Our Society has chartered Wiggonholt a 40-seater boat to take us on a one-and-a-half-hour cruise through this attractive stretch of waterway meandering sinuously through woodland and meadow.
We will have on-board commentary by a very knowledgeable member of the Trust. Whilst enjoying our trip we will also partake of tea/coffee and cake.
The boarding venue is pleasantly and conveniently situated from the lawns of The Onslow Arms Pub in Loxwood.
There is ample parking and of course if you fancy lunch before your cruise, you have the choice of the pretty garden overlooking the river or inside the cosy timbered bar.
Please bear in mind that you need to be ready to pre-board at 1.45pm.
You are advised to book soonest as we believe this will be a popular event.
This event is not suitable for wheelchairs and those with mobility issues need to be able to get in and out of the boat.
No dogs are allowed.
Cost to Members: £20.00
Cost to Non-members: £26.00
The price includes tea/coffee and cake. Please let us know of any dietary requirements in the comments box when booking. We will also make a donation to the Trust.
