A day discovering Nutfield and Countryside Food Festival

15th September 2018, 10:00 - 16:00

Join the Chairman, Chris Howard and Local Food Britain Founder, Tracy Carroll for an interesting day exploring hidden Nutfield.  Enjoy sampling the delights of locally produced food and drink at the Local Food Britain Festival at Priory Farm. You will receive special VIP treatment for the day – a guided walking tour, free parking, and a designated area to enjoy your picnic and leave your bags while you wander the site to enjoy local delicacies.

In the morning Chris will take you for an easy hour and half walk. The walk does involve some hills, uneven paths and several stiles, so you will need to be a fairly fit walker to join us for this part of the day.  Practical foot ware is recommended. Also, dress appropriately for the weather, as we will be out doors for most of the day. The walk is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs, but is suitable for dogs on leads.

In the afternoon we will be celebrating local food and drink at the Local Food Britain Countryside Food Festival, which is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Nibble and sip your way around the festival and meet up with the producers to hear their passionate stories about creating real Surrey food and drink. BBC Radio Surrey’s Danny Pike Show will be broadcasting live from the festival until 12 noon and there will be lots to see and enjoy – you can even bring your windfall apples and pears (and a drinks container) and have them turned into juice. Or why not enter the Preserves with Passion competition? Find more details on www.localfoodbritain.com.

The lunchtime and afternoon event visiting the Countryside Food and Drink Festival is suitable for all, including wheelchairs in the main areas, but not suitable for dogs (although they are permitted in the areas outside the food festival itself). This is also a good event to bring children to, so they can enjoy the Farm’s Discovery Walk, normally charged at £3.00 per child but today will be included!

The morning talk and tour of Nutfield is free for members and £1.00 for non-members. Join us for coffee (not included) at Wendy’s Cabin at the entry to the Discovery Walk at 10.00am for a prompt 10.30am start.  Free field parking. Lunch can be bought from the festival stalls and hot food offerings and eaten in our designated VIP area. Enjoy the afternoon at Local Food Britain Countryside Food Festival for £2.00 for all, including designated parking.

Booking is essential. If you wish to join us, you can book your space online at the bottom of this page or alternatively complete and return the downloadable slip here below to arrive at Warren Farm Barns before Monday 10th September.  Send a stamped addressed envelope so you may be sent full details and directions for the visit by post.
