24th September 2017, 09:00 - 18:00
You need to register separately at www.surreyhillschallenge.com as well as with us down below.
Join the Chairman of Surrey Hills Society, Chris Howard on the Annual Surrey Hills Challenge. Chris and a group of Surrey Hills Society members will be walking the 10km route, whilst enjoying watching other walkers and runners doing the Ultra 26km marathon. The day also includes activities hosted at Denbies Vineyard, where we will also be taking our SHS trailer for the day.
For 2017 they have a brand new route and location at Denbies Wine Estate. The Ten is a hilly and technical challenge to walk or run and, like The Five, it encompasses wide open tracks, footpaths and woodland trails. Branching off from The Five, The Ten heads out onto Surrey farmland and heads into Dorking woods before tackling the North Downs Way. It re-joins The Five again at Ashcombe Wood along with the Ultra, Forty and Half challengers as they begin their descent down into Denbies where the finish and Race Village are located.
The Race Village is where medals and prizes are awarded and is also the main hub and meeting point for all our participants and their supporters. With refreshments and entertainment available from 10am until 6pm, it is the heart of the challenge.
Please book with us (for free) to let Chris know you are coming, but we are not organising this event so you must also register and pay for the event on www.surreyhillschallenge.com. Entry fee is £25.00 per person (discounts for families).
There is plenty of free parking available – more details once you register with www.surreyhillschallenge.com.
Meet Chris at 9.30am for 10.00am prompt start. The meeting point will be confirmed upon your booking with us.
