Prompt 11am start
Approx finish at 1.15pm

Our normal walk on the first Sunday of the month is being brought forward due to the Coronation of his Majesty King Charles 3rd.

Join our Chairman, Gordon Jackson on a moderate 6.35 km (4 miles) walk around Norbury Park situated between Dorking and Leatherhead with some stunning views across the Mole Valley to Box Hill.

This 6.35 km (4 miles) walk around Norbury Park situated between Dorking and Leatherhead has some stunning views across the Mole Valley to Box Hill.  This walk is for fit walkers who are able to manage moderate hills.

Our circular walk will start at Young Street Car Park and will pass through a mix of chalk grassland, woodland and farmed fields.

This historic parkland was first mentioned in the Doomsday Survey of 1086. In 1930, Surrey County Council purchased 530 hectares of Norbury Park, situated between Dorking and Leatherhead, to save it from development and to keep the land available for public enjoyment for ever.

Norbury Park estate is a much-valued resource for recreation, farming, woodland and nature. Most of the paths are well made up although there is one section of chalk path which has been eroded by the weather and which may be slippery and more difficult to negotiate if there has been wet weather.

This walk is classed as a moderate walk.

Please wear suitable footwear and waterproofs if necessary.

Approximately halfway round the walk there will be the opportunity to stop at Wild about Coffee (subject to it being open) which provides refreshments in the woods

This event is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.  Children over 10 are welcome.

Dogs on leads are welcome.

Meet: The walk starts and finishes at the Young Street Car Park accessed from the A246 Young Street at the bottom of the hill.

NOTE: There are two car parks on Young Street so make sure you go to the correct one – NOT the car park by the entrance to Bocketts Farm.
