Visit to Tilford Rural Life Centre and nearby RSPB reserve

It is several years since the Society visited the Rural Life Centre (RLC) at Tilford and we have never had a tour of the adjacent Farnham Heath RSPB reserve. This event rectifies both these gaps in our schedule of visits to interesting venues.

On arrival at the RLC, we will commence our visit with an introductory guided tour led by one of their knowledgeable volunteers. There will then be additional time to explore in more detail before we break for lunch in their on-site café (hopefully the weather will be good so that we can enjoy the meal in their garden area).

After our lunch break our Chairman, Christine Howard, will lead us on a tour of the adjacent RSPB reserve where we will learn more about their work and aim to see some of the wildlife which has made this reserve its home.

Any members who are constrained by time or prefer a less active afternoon, are welcome to continue their exploration of the RLC exhibits and forego the optional RSPB section.

Dogs will enjoy a good walk around the museum and exploration of the RSPB reserve.  We ask that dogs do remain on leads and please note that at certain times of the year livestock are kept on site.

The cost of the day which includes entry to RLC, guided tour, light ploughman’s lunch and a donation to RSPB will be £20 for members and £23 for non-members.  Although drinks and other refreshments are available at the café we have excluded these from the booking price in order to give you maximum choice and flexibility.
