Trees and Flora around Hascombe village
Tuesday 10 May 2022
10.30am – 12.30pm

Tree identification in spring and summer is greatly helped by the size, shape and colour of the leaves. However, we will also look at the many other ways to identify them from their shape, bark and other features.

Hascombe contains a large cluster of cottages and country estates, St Peter’s church, the village green, a fountain, pond, a central public house and is surrounded by steep wooded hillsides. The route will head out from the village centre on a short walk to look at the trees and flora growing in the valley and hillside areas.

This walk will be led by Surrey Hills Society member Pamela Holt, who is a plant identification specialist.

This event is not suitable for those with mobility challenges or children and pushchairs.

Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short lead at all times.

Cost to Members £5.00
Cost to Non-members £10.00

There are no toilets available on the walk. (the White Horse pub will be open at the end of the walk).

Please wear appropriate footware and dress according to weather conditions.

Lunches are available in the White Horse pub in Hascombe after the walk.  Attendees should make their own arrangements and booking is recommended.

Alternatively, there are benches around the picturesque village pond, ideal for a picnic.

Deadline for booking 3 May 2022.
